SAN DIEGO, CALIF – November 17, 2011 — Due to an innovative attachment to the Electro Flo® 5000 Airway Clearance Device available through Med Systems, Inc., cystic fibrosis patients now have complete control over providing respiratory therapy to themselves.
Freedom to apply therapy where needed is important because congestion can become lodged in a particular lobe of the lung, and the patient can feel where the pressure is needed to move it up and out. Previously, a patient could apply the Electro Flo® 5000 Airway Clearance Device to the front of the body themselves, but had to rely on another person to reach the back. The self-administrator addresses that problem.
This is the only device that gives cystic patients complete autonomy and control over their own therapy. Since the Electro Flo® 5000 with Force Multiplying Technology provides 30 targeted settings allow power and frequency to be precisely directed to individual lobes of the lungs, the user can tailor their treatment to exactly what is needed.
